This polymer clay tutorial gives detailed instructions on how to make a Southwestern styled turtle box. This is my first workshop booklet that I wrote to coordinate with my turtle box workshops and - unlike my other workshop handbooks - it is written in a more technique oriented fashion rather than a final project fashion. It includes detailed instructions on how to make a turtle box form, including 4 different size turtle box patterns. It also includes instruction on making faux turquoise and finishing the turtle box. There is bonus material included, including instructions to make fetish forms, simple boxes, and four different canes: a southwestern steps border canes, a fiesta cane, a leaf cane, and a petal cane. The diy class teaches how to create a custom turtle box form that you cover with the canes, along with finishing and sanding instructions. It requires basic cane reduction knowledge. The included canes and techniques are advanced beginner skill. The tutorial is broken down into 10 different sections - a section for each cane, one for faux turquoise, two for fetishes and decorating them, one for simple boxes, and a final two sections for making the turtle box form and decorating & finishing the turtle box. It includes a detailed list of the basic supplies needed for each section and a two pages of patterns. The tutorial is 25 pages long and has about 150 large, color pictures!
